I’ve lived in Barnes for roughly 4 years now and felt the need to leave a review in the hope that it might improve with customer feedback.

The rolls and bread are as you’d expect from a bakery but the ready made items and cakes a little basic.

As an example, the cheese and onion roll has one thick slice of cheese and a thick slice of onion. The roll itself is buttered on one side with margarine. Minimum effort. My family and friends agree that the standard could be higher. If we do buy here, we’d usually take home the rolls and add items to it or butter the rolls at home.

Cake wise, I generally don’t buy them from here. The selection isn’t huge and the quality not that great.

With a few simple changes, this could be an excellent local bakery. I get the impression that this is the least concern for the owner because they mostly serve local builders and tradesmen so it doesn’t matter what they put out. They sell it anyway.

Been customers here for many years, but have noted that the service has become very poor. Heard the bakery was sold out to Putney Bakery, but not certain. Poor service and a rude 'boss'. Always have our bresd sliced, but the slicer has become blunt and the slices stick together. Asked if the slicer needed sharpening, and a rather vulgar, middle-aged man snapped, "I am the boss here, and I'm not altering anything. If you don't like it, go elsewhere". What sort of parish would such a person represent? Surely not an olde Englande type! Trying to locate Head Office without success, so I can report this person.

The only place for miles around which is a PROPER bakery and doesn't sell that 'ponced up' rubbish so popular with the chattering classes.
Unfortunately, the word is out that the premises are going to be sold, and who knows if the bakery will continue or if we will have another useless space.
