The bread from Kistrucks is absolutely amazing. I particularly like the rustic country grain and the wonderfully oaty lionheart (fri & sat only) and the jam filled donuts are easily the best I've ever had! If fact, I know of a man who visits the UK twice a year and is on strict instructions from his family to return with Kistrucks donuts!
After the bread itself, the best thing about Kistrucks is that they care about what they do. The bread is baked on site, the wheat is from E & K Benton's farm in Essex and the milling is done at GR Wright & Sons (London's last miller and, unusual for a mill, a small business).
I gave 9 instead of 10 stars because I feel that I few of their items too expensive. 90p for even a fantastic hot cross bun is really too muchand with the donuts being 80p I only buy them as a special treat. That said, I think the bread, especially the large loaves, is very good value.
If you live nearby give real bread a try. You'll never go back to the supermarket stuff!
