i don't know what the last reviewer was talking about. This is an amazing bookshop. You could easily spend a day here as they have such an amazing selection to browse. my kids love their children's section as well.

the only down point is that it takes ages for them to answer the phone if you want to ring ahead to see if an item in in stock but this is less of a problem if you call at less busy points of the day.

all in all a gem in the heart of london

very difficult to get information about books available, as the departments concerned do not seem to be interested in answering the telephone. even worse response in Piccadilly where you do not even get through to general enquiries, and the telephone just rings for ever and ever. On a background of extreme crises and constant threats of closure for bookshops this kind of customer relation is a suicidal strategy. I would like to encourage the survival and existence of bookshops, but no wonder many of us frustrated customers end up in the welcoming arms of Amazon.
