European Bookshop

Nice bookshop, right off Regent Street, convenient to get to and easy to stop there and have an intellectual rest during a long afternoon of west end shopping! Fairly large selection of foreign titles, classics and new. Prices a bit high but what can we do. As far as I know they do offer student discounts for language students. They can order books from abroad, but depending how lucky you are it can take 1 week or 4... They can also post them to you if you can't make it to the shop. Helpful staff. Overall very good opinion of this shop!

The online shop is as bad as you can get. On the 10th of May I ordered a Czech self-study set. Couple of days later I get an e-mail saying that actually the price is higher. There was also a comment that the "VAT is not exportable" so I am not gonna be charged that - well I order from the Netherlands, which is in the European Union, so obviously it's not an export. And they are in principle obliged to charge me VAT. But hey - I would not fight that :) So the book was allegedly sent on the 17th of May but till today - 31 May not yet managed to arrived in the Netherlands. Quite odd since it normally takes 3-5 working days from the UK. I sent two e-mails to the European Bookshop with request to track the parcel. Well they couldn't! They offered they would send me another one but would I mind simply waiting a bit longer - it may eventually show up?!

I just bought a book from this store - but online. I bought it on Saturday and I already have it today (Tuesday!!!!). One of the best buys I've made. Quick, clean, reliable service. And they have a huge variety of books too!!
