The Owl is a much loved local bookshop in Kentish Town. A fantastic selection of new titles, an impressive range of backlist and classic titles and a treasure trove of children's books has given the Owl it's reputation as one of the best bookshops in North London. The Owl Bookshop is perfection. A wonderful environment with knowledgeable and friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble. They hold excellent stock; but if they don't have what you want, they'll access any book quickly and efficiently. The place is the embodiment of service, quality and the joy of reading. Amazon does not compare - the last book I ordered arrived with the dust jacket badly torn.

Love the shop and the books and the people. An oasis in a desert of Amazon. Everything I want ti read and lots I didn't know about - except for Alice Munro's fabulous, wonderfully thrilling and surprising new short story collection.
Next week I have to go and collect my 'put-aside' 2013 Little Prince diary - and try to resist temptation calling out on every shelf.

Fantastic bookshop with local feel but national selection of books. They were the only shop to stock an obscure cookery book I needed before Xmas (Hugh FW's Preserves book if you must know) & have helped me to find the "perfect" book on several occasions.
Highly recommend!
The Owl Bookshop is a real Kentish Town icon. I think it's been here for at least 25-30 years. The staff are intelligent and helpful with objective and, if you want it, subjective advice. It has an excellent selection of books including children's section. If it doesn't have the book you want it will virtually always get it by the next day.
It also stocks a comprehensive selection of Ordnance Survey maps of the UK which is unusual for a shop of its size.
A very helpful, friendly bookshop. The staff will stand on their heads and juggle with their feet if you ask them, but I didn't ask them, so you're very lucky to get all that too.
