Acceptable as they had I wanted and at the best prices it was to do decking and they gave good advice and the correct things required they also made an error when ordering the rails which are 5x2 planks the only fault I’ve had with them is of my own miscalculations when I went to order I’d given square foot to what I was about to do all I need now is another plank of5x2 to complete as to there service I give 10x10/response to there service and help provided I’m a carpenter by trade but have retired but can still do a thing or two lol good luck guys and we’ll done 🤞🏾❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾♥️👊🏾

This is apparently a family run business where noone seems to be in charge. They also don't seem to understand what is acceptable behaviour in the 21st century. When your delivery driver illegally enters a customers home without permission to use the toilet for a big job then one should apologise profusely to the customer, not ignore it. Also perhaps learning how to deliver what is ordered and actioning refunds would be a good start. Lastly, if you list an email address as a way to contact you then someone needs to monitor it, as well as the post and phone calls and respond to issues, Not ignore them completely! I have had a truely awful experience with this company and am still 3 weeks later am waiting an apology and refund. I most definitely would not recommend them.
Response from Hitchcock & King Customer Services
We would like to offer our sincere apologies once more to you, we can assure you that this issue has been dealt with by the branch manager and the staff member in question. This is not in line with our usual standards expected. However, we have had correspondence prior when the complaint was placed, so we politely refute that our response and apology has been non-existent. We have offered a credit note, which was actioned on the the 4th of July, after confirming which items were being refunded. We take complaints and feedback very seriously, because our customer service skills are something which we pride ourselves on at Hitchcock & King.

I've used Hitchcock & King for wood deliveries three times in 10 years. All three occasions the wood has been warped and/or bent. The last delivery was x10 3x2" that I'm using to build a stud wall. Totally useless as they're bowed on the 3" side, the part I need to be straight for the plasterboard to fix to.
£47.88 with delivery, driver had no change so cost me £50, not the cheapest either.
They delivered on time, which is handy as they're only across the road.

They are very professional and cater to every need, wether I needed help with woodwork or painting. Particularly as a woman I felt very well advised in a professional manner.
The paint and tools they recommended and sold me worked phantasically well, they saved me a lot of time and work and will be my first call in future, rather than the diy stores!
