Useful Tips from AIL Users

Go there before you go to B&Q or homebase - you will probably find them cheaper and more knowledgeable!

I have recently moved into a new flat, and Blissetts have been really, really helpful on my many trips there for anything from a shower unit, to paint, to wood, nails - you can get almost anything there. They don't make you feel a fool if you don't know the name of anything (something I especially appreciate as a woman), and if you just want 6 nails that's what they will sell you! If they don't have something they will try to recommend a place where you can get it. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, and I recommend them unreservedly.

........even to a new resident and relatively naïve DIY'er, Blissetts have always offered polite, courteous and insightful information and always extend a warm greeting and also excellent, non intimidating customer service.

Not always the cheapest but always worthwhile.

Really great shop - helpful advice without being condescending. Same faces - being going there for years. Prices and range far better than B&Q etc too!!

We have lived here for 12 years, have had a flat, now a house, and have always been impressed by the level of service, friendliness, good advice and good prices at Blissets. It has become our number one source of DIY advice and products and we will always wait for Blissets to order stuff they dont have in stock rather than going elsewhere.

I have personally used this shop for nearly 20 years. Derek, Paul and Mark are a credit to themselves. This is my thanks to them for helping out a keen DIYer along the way. Highly recommended to pay them a visit before any other shop.

The best place in town. Probably the best DIY/hardware store you are ever likely to find. Reasonably priced with the most honest, helpful and knowledgeable staff I have ever met. Good range of products and they will order it if they don't have it in stock. If you Plan to buy anything from the larger chain stores, then I suggest you try Blissetts first.

A great place and endorse everyone else's comments. Helpful, competitive on price, and really know what they're talking about.

Most of us non-professional DIYers need advice on what to buy without having to buy the latest De Walt drill or whatever. These guys aren't condescending, they know their stuff and aren't there to rip you off. Good traditional firm.

The best small builders' merchant/ironmonger I've ever used! Really helpful and will go the extra mile with useful advice. They'll get anything you might need if it's not in stock and don't rip you off. Friendly people! As previous reviewer said, cheaper than B&Q for many things
