Ok. An extension to my above review: where i said they are local but i am a passionate chef i meant to say that 'local' is unpredictable, but really this place is perfectly located opposite the Rivilo Ballroom where i understand people from all over London come to dance (would recommend that as a great venue for a night with a difference- totally beautifull on the inside- stunning!) that the 'Star Cafe' are superbly going to benefit from the morning aftermath of people that might have fussy expectations and 'Star Cafe' truly cater their service to the individual requirement, serving vegetarians as well, my choice when friends stay over and save me from the cooking in the morning- can not be beaten! xx

Frequenting this place when i know i am getting a train from Crofton Park Station but timing is not always right with trains leading me to get breakfast before travelling- i ate here so often, they will be quick where you need them to for meeting train times- friendly staff with the personality of a good reliable restaurant. Yes the decor is basic but the service is formidable, most importantly time over. On a weekend this place is perfect as given any company you might be entertaining the place is friendly, welcoming and overall a pleasant enviroment for the good old english breakfast. Ok, here is the review, i generally go for breakfast all over London and it all comes down to what you get, the quality of meal and service that carries it, at Star Cafe you feel like you are in a 'Local' place and the food is great. The ingredients are perfectly cooked (i am a passionate chef!) portions are spot on, brown bread would go well and ripened tomatoes to bode well with the conneseur although all the ingredients are good- ultimately a designable menu, if you have specific dietry requirement they have choices e.g halal is possible, changing the dishes of the set breakfask is taken with a desire to please the customer. I have never done a review before but decided that after being charged high prices elsewhere in London despite a trained/fussy expectaton (because i can't find the right word) finally put this down as the best breakfast in London so far(!!) seriously- nothing is over cooked and nothing is 'under' cooked. So there it is My review is over. I am totally an individual that uses them for the splendid convienience and not a marketing guy, yes they are very local but i am so passionate about food that i would never do a review unluss impressed (on a continuous basis) i understand that there is a day time menu but have never tried as i work in the city and pass by early mornings and on occasion at the weekend-note** basic decor but cleanliness is perfect!
