Cornerstone is one of my favourite places in East London. It's a quaint little tea shop with the best cheese toasties and yummy cakes! The staff are so friendly and warm and have become great friends of mine over the past year or so. I often go there to have some quiet time, read books from their fab book club or to get on with my paperwork. There are often fun events held at Cornerstone too, from craft evenings to charity quiz nights. Definitely worth a visit!

This place is a little gem in the East End! A great place to meet some lovely local people, or just curl up in a corner with a book, a cup of tea, and slice of cake. The afternoon tea is stellar. And such affordable prices! Definitely one of my top favorite places in Newham.

I've been to Cornerstone hundreds of times and think the atmosphere is second to none. The Volunteers are always cheerful and welcoming and the prices are ridiculously cheap in comparison to places like Starbucks and Costa, plus you don't feel like you're on a conveyor belt to get you out to serve the next lot of customers. I cant recommend it highly enough. The only down side is that its not the biggest of places however it does add to the homely feel of the place.

Finally a place where I don't have to go all the way to Central for coffee in a good atmosphere. It's homey and clean, plus they have a massive variety of books that you can swap or borrow on request. Oooh! And they have homemade dessert! The bread pudding is to die for and the cupcakes are amazing! Only 70p for coffees and desserts! My favorite thing- they have vegetarian friendly options! HUZZAH!

What a great Cafe! Comfy seats and good music. The only one of its kind along this stretch of the Barking Road. Very welcoming with a super cheap menu! Well presented sandwiches and creative soups and cakes. Warm and cosy in the winter but also has some outside seating for those warm summer days. I wish it was open on a Saturday though. Great for the local residents but definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in this part of East London.

I loved this coffee shop, so unexpected in a run of shops on the barking rd. Stylish, friendly and good value. They also do wonderful afternoon teas with white table cloths, bone china and everything. Shame about only opening Wednesday-Friday.
