The Go East had, in my opinion, the best coffee in Finchley.
It has since sold out and the new Moroccan owner has called his cafe "The Treasure Chest" and has made huge sweeping changes to adopt a very authentic Moroccan theme, but inside the cafe, he has kept the more comfortable higher tables rather than the very low tables they have in Morocco
He has obtained permission and has built an enclosure outside on the wide pavement to accomodate smokers and in the evening there are many trying out the Moroccan water pipes.
Their patisseries are to kill for and they also offer meals from lunchtime.
The great plus here is that they have kept their excellent coffee, and one price of £1.49 is the same for Espresso, Double Espresso, American or Latte.
To sum up, an intriguing setting, excellent coffee, served at a low price.
I go there at least three times a week.
