In short:
Carpet quality: great
Customer service: terrible & rude
Fitting: terrible (see full review)

Chose the carpet company based on a previous fitting at our last house which we were pleased with.

This fit was done as part of a house refurb.

The fitters arrived and fitted the carpet hastily during the tail end of our refurb.

During the fitting, the fitters damaged all the newly laid skirting boards which started to crack and pull away from the wall. Not once did the fitters stop to raise the issue with us or the builders who were still on site. The builders then had to refit, caulk and paint the skirting at an additional cost.

The company attributed blame on our builders for not fitting the skirting properly, however, the skirting under our fitted wardrobes had also been damaged - both the carpenter (wardrobes) and builders (skirting) - separate trades - were excellent and we have no reason to believe that they were to blame.

We also asked for our carpets to be fitted without threshold bars - this was an aesthetic that we have had before and seen in other houses, with the same carpet type, and worked successfully. At the point of sale, we were we not advised that this was not recommended with the carpet type we chose.

Whilst we accept the joins would not appear entirely seamless, the joins between two of the rooms and hallway already look frayed and patchy. The threshold between one room and the hallway looks absolutely fine so we were puzzled as to why the other joins were so shoddy.

And lastly, the owner of the company, [ ]came to visit to look at the workmanship. He was rude, defensive and caused a great deal of upset. He admitted that the fitters should have stopped when they saw the skirting being damaged but refused to take responsibility and accountability for the fitters inaction. He attributed the blame at our door for choosing not to have the threshold bars, which he said they would have advised at point of sale (which of course they didn’t). Even though he could see the difference between the good join and the bad joins, he simply excused it as ‘just the way the carpet is’.

At the point of becoming overly defensive and the conversation becoming heated, we politely asked him to leave.

We were offered no apology and therefore no compensation for the damage caused nor the reparations.

Would not recommend.
