After driving from Wales to London I was shocked by the so called appraisal of the collection. The guy who was supposed to appraise the collection didn't even look at one stamp he just flicked through the albums. Casting them aside into a pile on the chair for me to put them all tidy again and reload the car. I then found out there was a stamp auction upstairs hence his haste to get away for free champagne and food. Disgusting. I owned the oldest fishing tackle manufacturer company in the world called Richard Wheatley. My great grandfather was sir William Henry flower. Curator of London museum to queen Victoria I am extremely familiar with auction. Houses and their ways. This guy was a complete and utter time waster with no interest whatsoever. Especially as they have on show for sale the same stamps as in my collection. Ranging from 70 pounds up. Over 100 penny reds. He didn't look at one of them. His final words were they should be sold on ebay for 400 pounds if I was lucky.. Idiot. Over 20 full albums 200 first day covers. 3 albums one of which came 3rd in the philatelic society's competition. Avoid this place unless you want some youngster whom probably knows his stamps but has no idea about customer relations. I will take them elsewhere and never buy anything from Stanley gibbons again and I recommend you do the same. Disgusted.
