Gultronics

I bought 4 computers from them.
Pushy service-yes!(But once you told them off, they leave you alone)
Overpriced-yes!(BUT!!!once you start negotiating, you will discover that they can go LOWER than any shop in around) Warranty-no idea. For me-good price is all that matters (in computers).

Horrendous experience. Wanted to buy a printer. Hewlett Packard Deskjet 1050 on sale at £69. I said it was too dear. Pushy salesman told me I could have it for £59 if I paid 'now'. I agreed. I walked 5 minutes up the road and saw the same printer in Ryman's window at £29.99. I went back to Gultronics and explained. They agreed to a 75% refund, due to a 25% charge for 'restocking', which is stated on the back of the receipt. This gave me a loss of £15. I complained that I had only left the shop 2 minutes earlier, so how could they justify a 25% charge? This was met with derision. I left with my £15 loss and bought the Ryman's printer.

Now, I'm not saying I'm clever. I'm also not saying that Gultronics did anything particularly illegal or wrong. I am writing this to stop anyone from making this same mistake. Firstly, shop around A LOT. Secondly, the Gultronics guys are plainly not interested in goodwill or repeat business or fair dealing or anything which makes me want to do anything but write a poor review of my shopping experience. I got the bus home feeling like a tourist who accidentally wandered into a clip joint and made to pay a fortune for a can of coke before being allowed to leave. Hateful.

I was reassured my laptop could be fixed and that it'll cost me £50 + VAT plus the cost of the part to fix it. Then they told me they couldn't get hold of the part so they couldn't fix it but they refused to give me any money back. We will never use them again at the office and I'm considering reporting them to Trading Standards.

To make it short: pushy sellers, extremely bad after-sale service (I am still waiting for a piece I pre-paid. It's been supposed to arrive "tomorrow" for 4 days.).

If you can avoid it, I would strongly advise you NOT to buy there.

I needed a laptop and naturally decided that Tottenham Court Road would be the place to go. Gultronics was the second shop I entered, as well as the last. Their service could be classed as irritating, but it is clear that they value each customer, as they customed their approach for my budget and needs. I ended with a bargain of a laptop (and laptop bag and USB stick) for a more than reasonable price. Haggle away!
