Stitch & Clean

I went to Stich & Clean as I needed a suit tailored for a wedding which I was best man for. I went in twice to get measured to ensure it was absolutely perfect for my body & size and was charged £255, naturally I expected very high quality which I was happy to pay for such a special occasion. On the day the day of the wedding as I put the jacket on the sleeve ripped instantly as I put my arm in it (see attached photo). I sent a photo to Stitch & Clean immediately who asked that I bring it in, I suggested I would like some sort of refund as it was as I had to walk around the entire day with a massive hole in my suit & it was a lot of money for a service which turned out to be very LOW QUALITY.

When I spoke with the owner he said this is a common occurrence and usually happens with the service and they will be happy to fix it but 0 refunds as it was a lot of hard work for them. He also suggested I was lying and that I put on my jacket too aggressively. So, if you are wanting a tailor for an item of clothing for your big day please AVOID STITCH & CLEAN as their service is designed to rip (their words). They refused to refund any of the shoddy work they did and are now fixing my jacket for me which of course I now have no trust in, I will be taking my item to a better tailor so they can have a proper look over this.

Awful service, awful customer experience, showed no care & a wedding ruined. Thanks Stich & Clean.

P.S. I was able to get full refund via my bank in the end, worth looking into when you inevitably have the same issue.

Had a vintage tuxedo sourced and then altered for me to become a tailored suit that fit perfectly. Amazing service and was great value for money. Very very happy with my experience.

Friendly, fast service. King duvet came back pristine. The company also does dressmaking (M & F), alterations and repairs, including leather. Highly recommended.

Had a brilliant experience with Stitch and Clean! I'd never altered clothes before but had a dress I loved where the shoulders were slipping down so took it in to see what they could do. They were so knowledgeable and clear about the options for how to make the dress fit perfectly, and as I was desperate to wear it to a party the next day, they turned it around in really quick time which I so appreciated. The shop itself is gorgeous and the owner is so friendly and warm - a really lovely local business. Can highly recommend!

Lovely experience having my trousers taken up and also some magic restyling of the waist to have perfectly fitted trousers. Took about a week and was super happy with the end result.

Shocking alteration service. Go there are your own risk... I had a number of brand new suits altered and they were all.nearly ruined...tried to have them fix one Vs giving them all the suits again and little improvement... They even said it would steam out. Really poor service in terms of quality and client service...I don't normally wrote review but felt compelled so that others don't go through the stress I did... Sleepless night thinking of the shoddy work... Very poor.

Worst service I have ever received anywhere. If you have a deadline for your alterations, don't waste your time here. Had a specific date and was called over 1 week later to say dresses were ready. I called multiple times on the day and left a voicemail to say that I couldn't collect but someone else could if they would let me know items were ready. No reply. When I mentioned I was unhappy with the service, I was basically told I was wrong and it was my fault. Never received an apology and still paid £65 to have some hemlines taken up on 2 items of clothing. Absolutely awful.
