Being a landlord for the first time is daunting. Gina and Snr partner Mark met with me at my home and gave me reassurances that my property would be properly cared for. Having a Snr partner with years of experience there to answer my questions made me feel very important (big tick!) Gina is great. She is lovely and professional at the same time! We saw a 2 bedroom house for rent and decided to go for it although that there was a lot of things that had to be fixed, which they said they will do before we move in. Same day we went to the estate agent and gave £400 and this is for referencing which will not be given back. They said they accept dss, so that was great. And then we waited for the estate agent to give us a call to sign the papers and all but he never did. We had to call every time, he said he will call back and didn’t. Finally when we called he was there and he said the landlord will not be renting the property to us just because we get dss, although that they said they accept dss for that property that’s why we called them to arrange a viewing in the first place. When we went to get our £400 back we then said that we can get a guarantor, they said ok, we filled the form. They then called to say it will not be rented to us.so we spend that much money and time and didn’t get anywere, just got lots of stress and now we are still looking for somewere to rent, because before we saw this property we saw another one, a bit small but nice, so we turned that one down so that we can rent this one but didn’t work out. our current contract ends end of jan 12.
