[Owner] is very quick to take your money and makes no effort to supply the goods that you paid for. She took my money for TWO headstones, only supplied ONE and has ignored many of my emails and messages. Out of the few emails I did actually receive from her, she claims that she “will get onto it” and apologises for the delay. But nothing is actually done. If you do catch her in the office, she requests even more money for “permit fees” and other things she needs to complete the process. Years later, still no headstone or refund. She has her sister working in the office to fob you off and claim that only Marilyn can deal with the situation and that “Marilyn is away on holiday” or “out of the office”. No-one ever calls you back and you don’t receive what you paid for. This is no way to treat grieving families. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

We chose House of Serenity as we wanted to support our local community. Our initial contact was positive, however once we had paid the service was extremely poor. Very unprofessional, uncaring, insensitive and extremely poor service. Phone manner was mainly unfriendly, apathetic, defensive, rude and sounded like she was being bothered by us calling, to enquire when our Mother would be collected from the hospital mortuary. Several excuses were made, they were busy, had lots of funerals. Despite my Mother not being collected for quite a while and was not notified and had to call several times enquiring, each time told in next few days, we were never informed or clearly told when this we would be. When we asked for procedures and time frames to be explained they continued to be vague, unhelpful and defensive. We lost all confidence in this shoddy funeral directors and transferred all further arrangements to a professional Funeral Directors.
