I have been coming to Hikari in Theberton Street, N1 for 3-1/2 years,having re-found my wonderful hairdresser who moved To Hikari. I love this salon! The professionalism is First-class (both hairy & beauty) the atmosphere in the salon always sunny, whatever the weather. I always get compliments on my hair. I am happy to recommend this lovely salon, tucked into the Heart of Islington, just off Upper Street.

Had a hair cut on Saturday afternoon.As I requested a Japanese hair stylist when I made a booking so she came along. Her talk put me off having conversation with her.She reiterated "Do you know what I mean" and "In it?".She talked like Amy Winehouse.I was very frazzled as I have dealt with a difficult issue with our company's solicitor last Friday.Her service would be fine for young girls but it was not for me(I am in my 40).Attitude towards customers has to keep pace with wide range of customer's expectations.I am afraid I would not go back there again.

I would agree that Hikari is the best hairdressers in London - they really listen to what you want and there is awkwardness or small talk about holidays just a lovely experience. The head massage is great and overall it is superb value for money!
I went from very long to very short hair which is a nervy experience but they are so calming and so talented that i trusted them completely and my hair is great! Ask for Marcel

hikari salon is definately the best for beauty treatments, with pain free quick waxing to a brilliant range of colours for nails theres nothing that can compete. the staff always make me feel so welcome every visit, i would recommend this salon to everyone

Quite simply the best hairdressers in London. The most polite staff greet you with tea/coffee/juice/wine and a range of this months magazines. You'll then have the best hair wash with head massage and the amazing massage chairs (never seen chairs that do all over body massages this good!). Once you're fully relaxed the top quality stylists will treat you like royalty and the end result .... well, the colour was beautiful and the cut suited me like no other hair cut ever has. I look and feel like a million dollars! These girls are the best around by a long way and I recommend them to all my friends.

Hikari are the best hairdressers and colourists I’ve ever been to. I had the most wonderful colour from a Japanese stylist, I forget her name, she corrected my colour, giving me an all over natural ash, golden blonde. I really have never had a better colour in my life, and all my friends agree! My cut is also wonderful, disconnected layers, which really suits my face shape and the techniques she used I’ve never seen before, but it’s amazing. I will always come back from now on. Maybe next time I’ll try the beauty or massage too.

Beautiful clean stylish decor and a very welcoming atmosphere when you arrive. Drinks and Magazines offered immediately and a full consultation with your stylist before you begin. Fabulous details like full body massage chairs when you get your hair washed, and a head massage while washing!
You really feel pampered and the gifted stylists can create any haircut, whether that's simple trim or the newest feature on the catwalk. They have a wonderful beautician too, with packages if you really want to have the full works!
The prices are really good too!
All in all a fantastic experience. I can't stop recommending it to friends!

Hikari is a small salon just off upper Street, Reiko is the owner and is very professional and friendly. It's difficult to find a good stylist and having found her recently I won't be going elsewhere! I can honestly say that I would recommend this salon - all the staff are attentive and welcoming. They also have beauty rooms downstairs...I've even had a free makeover and manicure whilst getting my hair done! They also have massage chairs at the basins - ahh bliss!!
