Recent first time visit to Bellmore's for myself and my kids (recommended by a friend) and really impressed with the experience. Eye test was thorough and well explained, with great "bed-side" manner. Two of us needed specs and great help with selection, offering a good range of styles and prices. Excellent.

I've been coming to Bellmores since I was a child and, despite having moved away from London, and having lived abroad for 4 years at one point, these are still the place I come to for a check. Honest, trustworthy, good advice, not out to sell you things you don't need, you can depend on them to be thorough, efficient and courteous. In a world where customer service is often a second though, its good to have somewhere which treats you well all as part of the service, and they've been doing it for years and years. Highly recommended

I've been going to Bellmore's for at least 18 years. Even though I haven't lived in London for 16 years I still go back to Bellmore's! My round trip is 340 miles but it's worth it!

I have swiftly abandoned my old opticians in favour of Bellmore's after visiting with my father who is an old customer- I couldn't believe how fantastically efficient it is, and that the appt was prompt- absolutely no waiting around, and very attentive service. I have just brought my daughter here for eye tests and new glasses, and can't get over how great it is- also, the prices are very competitive indeed with high street chains,and you can't begin to compare the friendliness, expertise, and calm surroundings.

I was thoroughly impressed with the professionalism, service and advice of the Bellmore team. a new customer, when I visited with my daughter in July 2009 they were helpful, and talked us clearly through every aspect of what they were doing. When I returned for my own test I was similarly impressed with the straightforward approach and good advice. So good to have somewhere like this locally.

The Smith Brothers who now run Bellmores are a good advertisment for customer service. I have been at Bellmores when old Mr Bellmorfe was there & apart from updating their excellent stock, it hasn't changed. Good old civility, service & friendliness.

My only criticism of Bellmores is that, when I escaped to the country, the Brothers appeared unwilling to up sticks and follow me! Now I have a 30 mile train ride into central London and a tricky cross-centre journey to get to Clapham - but it's still worth it. Nothing is too much trouble for the Bellmores team, and Mr Ainsley Smith hase looked after me and my family for more than two decades. Always a personal service, with a smile, and huge dollops of technical explanation delivered in an understandable way.

I've been a patient since I was a child (past 30yrs) and this family run business far outweighs those impersonal, conveyor-style chains that have popped up everywhere. I have to drive about 30mins to visit, but I tried using a chain nearer and was appalled at the service and impersonal feel I experienced from the minute I walked up to the reception desk. I'd rather go to a small business like Bellmore and wait a week than be ignored but get my glasses back in an hour!!

The two Bellmore brothers are very pleasant gents and their father would be very proud. I'm honoured to have been a loyal patient for several decades, and plan on remaining so whilst they remain in business!

Superb service. A really thorough eyetest. Great range of unusual frames with a range from about £35 - £200, the lenses offered were also reasonable & high quality. The optician spent a lot of time helping choose the frame, with useful advice. The glasses were back within a week & were then fitted so that they fitted me exactly.

Don't go to a chain, this is a truely great family business. They won't sell you what you don't really need. Optical express said I needed bi-focals, Bellmore's said that it really wasn't necessary.
