Brook Street

I thought being a 54 year old secretary who had just been made redundant after twenty four years in the same company I would be overlooked by YET ANOTHER recruitment agency in the City but I was wrong to be so cynical. The staff member Cher who looked after the temps desk said she was new to the company but the feeling I left with after speaking with her was the most positive I had heard after almost two months of fruitless searching through other so called sectretarial specialists Tate and Crone Corkhill. She took the time to speak to me and introduced me to her permanent consultant Sam and her manager Matt all of whom made me feel like an old bird like me was worth speaking too! They found me a role albeit at half the remunertation I was on before within the week and have been in contact consistently throughout trying to place me permanently. Thanks to Cher especially and Matt too for overlooking the ageism that clearly exists in the City and recognising my experience was worth something. I am now applying for a full time role in the firm I'm temping for and although I understand from Brook Street's perspective they would lose money by me leaving their books they are supporting me fully. Thank you Cher and Matt, Sam. I'd almost given up.
