A Star Cobblers

My husband was quoted £30 for toe repairs for work boots which would take a week, paid the money
A week later boots weren’t ready, told to return in 2 days. I then collected the boots and this is how it went
Me: oh are they leather patches?
A star: well they’re not plastic
Me : I’m still none the wiser
A star : I told the bloke who dropped them off what I was doing. I’m not explaining myself to you
When I pointed out loose and unraveling threads he said they just need burning off
After a long time looking, I gave him my own lighter where he burnt off the threads. It was not until I got home that I realised that in doing this he had melted the material used confirming that he had used inferior plastic, as I suspected. Husband returned today to try and rectify more unraveling threads, the material not meeting the sole, smeared glue, melted plastic and how shoddy the work was.
He was met with same nasty attitude, when all the faults were pointed out he offered a 50% discount and to leave or he would call the police
Take a look at his truly shoddy work before you trust him with your expensive footwear (£140 in this instance). If you enjoy being aggressively threatened and spoken to like you’re scum when you ask questions and having your time wasted when they don’t meet their own deadlines, this is the cobblers for you.
