I am hereby going to give my experience at Pret a Manger
I have just filed a complaint to the head office for nearly being assaulted by member of staff who claimed to be the director.
I fell victim of homophobic attack for no apparent reason.
I visit pret a manger on regular basis.
Last week of the November month 2023, the guy who claimed to be the director of pret a manger rushed me out in an angry manner at 9:15 pm . I explained that I just ordered my Latte and could I just finish off within 5 minutes, he angerly responded by NO, WE ARE CLOSING NOW.
I felt threatened by his violent behaviour.
on my recent visit, Saturday 2nd Dec, I ordered my drink and I asked him at the counter if I can see the manager, he said why? I said it is personal, he said he is the director and went on saying what is your problem. I said I dont have a problem, I just asked you kindly to let me speak to the operational manager. he said, '' you can speak to me''
I kept quite feeling confused, bit scared and intimidated, I took a seat and a moment later he came rushing to me I thought he is going to hit me, he demanded that I should give him my number, I was so confused, I said why, he said you said you have an issue with us, I said i never said I have an issue with you, I asked if I could see the operational manager. he said GIVE ME YOUR NUMBER, i said no, he insisted that i must give him my number. at this stage I just felt something really bad is going to happen.
Out of fear and confusion I told him to back off and leave me alone, he said, no, he approached me quite close to me, leaving no space and insisted I give him my number. I told him to stop harass me or I call the police. when I mentioned the police he backed off and insulted me by calling me f.king poof.
I left my drink there and rushed out in fear thinking that he could easily punch me. so I reported this matter to pret a manger via email. and my solicitor is guiding me to ask and follow up my complaint to see if there is any disciplinary procedures at pret a manger.
I am hoping this will be resolved in civil manner or if no action and detailed info revealed, then I am advised to take legal action if that member of staff still working at that branch in the strand.
