Highly, highly recommended.

I have been going to Ribbons now for some years, after it being recommended to me by a friend who'd be going there for 20 years! I remember my first visit very well, entering through a hidden door off the busy Marylebone High Street. Following the beaten stairs up I walked into a salon that looked like it hadn't been up dated for quite some while. To be honest it really wasn't what I'd expected of a West End salon. But immediately I felt at ease. The staff are so kind and welcoming and friendly and funny! There's always an abundance of tea and coffee and chocolate and biscuits and pastry and beers and the list goes on. Oh and if you want a sandwich from the cafe below whilst your hair sets they'll run down and get you one. There's always some good music playing, but if you don't like it, just change it, or better soon take your own - they're more than happy to pop a CD on for you.

Not only is the atmosphere great but the results are too. Richard always cuts and colours my hair and he does it so well. He always knows what is best and will be very honest if I suggest a style he doesnt think will suit me. He's also had to 'fix' my hair for me so many times too. For example my disatrous home dye sessions or when I've got back combing happy. He's a total super star. However if you're wanting your hair styling see Lizzy (Richard is very honest and admits he's a haircutter and colourer, not a stylist). She's a chatter box but a fabulous blow drier.

I have now got my whole family going there (even my mum who had been cutting her own her for 15 years, dispising hair salons). Most of my friends go there now too.

To be honest the experience, atmosphere and results will speak for themselves. Highly, highly recommended.

I had been going to ribbons for a good 20 years. I did have a short break in between but went back in 2005.
I had a hair dresser by the name of Richard who is a co owner with kevin.
I had my hair cut every 6 months but i noticed i had to keep returning for richard to recut it as it was never to my standard.
I have long thick hair and it need to be cut plunt so that it looks good.
I returned last week on Tuesday afternoon he was fine to re cut it as he had made me another apointment however once he had me in the seat and i told him what i wanted him to do he started shouting at me and being abusive and said he wasn't going to recut it as he didn't feel anything was wrong with it.
It was shabby and uneven one of his worst cuts and he has cut it badly before.
I will be happy for you to put my name to this because its true.
My name is Esther he will know who i am.
Would not ever go back hes rude with bad manners and needs to seek some kind of help.
Would say to others go some where else and pay that bit more for a good hair cut.
Have your say
