I've been a customer at the Goudhurst Terrace branch since 2011. I've never felt so humiliated ever by any service provider.
The Male hairdresser seemed very inexperienced and heavy handed. Took an hour to cut, and still my hair looked lopsided! When I complained, I was told to bend my head to make it look balanced (the audacity!) And change my parting.
I was shocked beyond belief, and then he started shouting at me saying you don't need to pay and this is the best haircut you've ever got in your life...(how dare he). I told him I'm here for a haircut not a "free" haircut and paid the £23 nevertheless.
The other female colleague is a lovely lady and has cut my hair in the past, but she just looked on. Definitely my last time there. Sad to see that horrible attitude

I was very happy to find V&M Haircutters a few years back and have been regularly cutting my hair there. They offered something other salons didn't: they offered dry cut for everybody, no fuss, immediate attention, low price. I think this was the secret of their success. Now, however, some smart Alec decided to charge ladies for hair wash and charge them for the service even if they just want the cut and no wash. The price increase exceeds the price charged by other local hairdressers (for wash and cut). I will not be coming back to V&M cutters any more, with great regret. Why destroy success

Absolutely, positively the worst experience of a haircut ever.
OK - the price for a men's cut without a wash is cheap at £11 - but theres a reason for that. The staff - who change every 3 or 4 months - are utterly untrained, never listen, and are completely and damagingly incompetent. My hair was cut this morning - clipper were used on the back, and the "cutters" (ha!) hand slipped twice leaving two completely bald patches; the scissor cut at the front is ragged, uneven and patchy. When I complained their was just a shrug.

Have been going to this place for over 2 years now and always received an excellent service. Everyone is very professional and friendly. Would highly recommend :)

had an awful experience here this morning - after 20 mins waiting it was my turn with the male hairdresser- I told him I just wanted a trim which I have had in this place over a dozen times & bn happy with. he then said I would need a wash & blow-dry. I said no thanks just a trim please & he then REFUSED to do it, saying I HAD to have the wash! - some rubbish about product in my hair that has never bn an issue before! don't know if he was hungover or just trying to charge extra. he was unbelievably arrogant & rude. I left. sad coz the ladies here have always bn excellent in the past.

V & M Haircutters is our walk in branch and unfortunately when we are busy some clients do end up waiting a while for a service. We try to service our clients as promptly as possible but on some days it is just impossible to reach everyone at the same time. Some stylists are unable to cut into the hair when there is a build up of product hence why Mario asked for you to have a wash. If this is the case and you do visit Mario again, please wash your hair at home and head in to see us. Again we apologise for the inconvenience and the experience this time around but we hope to see you very soon.

Fabulous. I have been going to V&M for about a year (approx. every six weeks) and have had several different stylist, all very good. My hair is very curly and I am always pleased. The best cut was with Andrea, she is an excellent stylist, but all the others are very compatent. Best of all you can walk in without an appointment even on Saturday and Sunday, the price is extremely good too. Well done and keep up the extremely good service.

I have been going to V and M hairdressers (number 7 Goldhurst Terrace) for about 3 years and have always been really happy with the cut. I have my haircut by a lady called Andrea who is really good - takes her time to make sure the cut is perfect. I have given her pictures of what I want and she always gets it exactly right. Even when doing a dry cut she always finishes it off by blow drying. Would recommend Andrea but not sure what the other stylists are like.

Worst hair cut ever! All staff were rude, the "stylist" who cut my hair did NOT listen to what I wanted (what I thought were simple instructions of "I DON'T want my fringe too short, above my eyes will be too short" Ripped out half my hair brushing it. Best to avoid this place!

They were fabulous, no boring unnecessary conversation, just great cut, colour and style. Which is actually all I ever want at a hairdressers, not inane chat! Would recomend to all, great prices makes a nice change in London!

Forget it if your hair is anyhing but straight (i.e. curly or wavy), they dont have the expertise to even trim. One particular hairdresser is extremley rude, without even realising it. I will not be returning nor recommend anyone. You get what you pay for, thats for sure!

Fantastic hairdressers....just needs to be bigger as there can be long queues. Just turn up and have a 'dry' haircut £9.00 only. They take their time and do a really professional job, excellent value for money.
