I purchased a Groupon voucher for cut and finish with Mimi Vasquez in Chiswick. Hairdresser Michael cut my hair on the day. The whole experience from start to finish was very good; he was attentive, fast and asked questions regarding my hair preferences. I also received a nice head massage and conditioner. I am very pleased with my restyle - I got my bangs back and layers to the front shaping my face nicely. I shall be returning to the salon to visit Michael again in a few months time. I highly recommend visiting Michael in the Chiswick branch.

If you're used to the usual hairdressing chains then the salon at Mimi's is a bit shabby in comparison but it does the job. I had Mimi herself and was sceptical to start with as I had to ask her to shampoo my hair twice (I have very thick hair) and most salons do this as standard. However, she cut my hair very nicely and did exactly what I asked her to. My hair is naturally curly and she blow dried it straight for me setting it with curlers - a technique I've never come across before but has left it lovely and bouncy. She paid a lot of attention to what she was doing, and while I was there I watched another hairdresser doing a similarly good job. Would definitely recommend.

In all honestly, worst haircut of my life. Done in about 10 minutes, looks like I've been attacked with a hacksaw. I rang in tears asking if they could fix it - they said they'd call back, and never did! Absolutely awful - don't go!

I had a Brazilian Blow Dry at Mimi's. I am thrilled with the results and was happy with the service. Mimi spent ages on my hair and I would certainly go back there.

I used to find going to the hairdressers a bit of an ordeal. I want my hairdressers to be a place of refuge from a stressful job where I can feel pampered and have some me-time. I have very fine, difficult hair and sensitive skin and I've lost count of the number of times I've left a salon on the verge of tears after suffering people who think they understand my hair better than I do am making a complete wreck of it. I've even left with blisters and burns after people did not listen to state that my skin and hair cannot tolerate bleach!
Since I discovered Mario at Mimi Vasquez all that has changed. First of all this guy has a PHD in listening and customer care. Before doing a thing with your hair he will establish a good rapport with you and make sure he understands what you need. The other great thing he does, which I have not seen elsewhere is the use of Herbal dyes. These are much gentler on your hair and you can get very light blonde highlights without resorting to bleach.
Also, Mario is pretty intuitive and understands that you don't always want to chat. The salon has a pretty chilled atmosphere and you can be left in peace with a coffee and magazine while your highlights develop. However, if you are in the mood for a chat he has travelled the world and what he doesn't know about celebrities would fit on the back of a postage stamp, so your always sure of some amusing tales.
You never feel rushed, which is because you're not. However, because of this I was say don't take the car and risk parking on a 2 hour meter. I've been badly stung twice. The tube station is only a 3 minute walk and there are plenty of bus services that go up Chiswick High Street.
In response to what some other reviewers have said, I also had the voucher for 3 discounted hair cuts and some beauty treatments. All of them were honoured except one which was an appointment I forgot I forgot about (it does say in the small print that if you miss an appointment youo forfeit the disco

I moved to London 2 and a half years ago from Newcastle. I tried about four different hair dressers on Chiswick High Street including some high brand hairdressing salons only to be disappointed as the did not understand how to cut my hair.
I eventually found Mario at Mimi Vasquez's. Mario understood right away how my hair needed cutting and colouring, I am very pleased with my hair cuts now and would recommend his service to anyone. I have seen various bad comments on this site which I think is very unfair, this salon does NOT offer bad customer service, instead they chose not to ramble on to you about pointless topics for the sake of talking. This salon is professional, clean and they understand what you want from a hair cut 10/10!!

I thought it was essential to comment on the Beauty Salon based in the Hairdressing salon of Mimi Vasquez............. Shabina who is the sole beautician in this establishment is an absolute hidden gem!! From Electrolysis to Threading to her new amazing purchase the Ellipse IPL hair reduction machine, Shabina has changed my life!!! As a well presented women who seeks ALOT of hair removal Shabina has been my life saviour! She always goes over and above, I started with weekly electrolysis and threading to help me with hair reduction. Then I started the IPL hair removal in Jan 2010 and 4 session in I am practically hair free (arms, legs, arm-pits and face)!! I feel SO happy and all my friends and family have noticed a huge difference in my confidence and well being. Reasonably priced and relatively pain free treatment, I couldn't be happier!! I would recommend Shabina to EVERYONE!!!!!! :o)

I got a good haircut from Mario, would definitely recommend. They did, however, have a poster advertising some good discount of the hair cut which they did not honour at payment time. It was not too expensive so I paid anyway as I was very happy with the cut. So not great on customer service but good cut.

Horrendous customer service. I also went because I had a voucher. All the staff are very rude and spend the entire time gossiping.

My highlights were ruined and not at all what I asked for, then I had to pay despite my voucher and they laughed at me because they said I did not look happy with the colour.

On a seperate occasion the cut by Mimi herself was awful - she pulled my hair so badly and her nails dug into my head so much that it brought tears to my eyes and the cut itself was rubbish The beautician was particularly rude and would not redeem all of my voucher - making claims that were not true and was very rude to me.

I have never had my hair done at this salon but the beauty treatments they offer there (eyebrow threading espesh) are fabulous and fantasticly priced. They're the cheapest I've found in Chiswick. The salon room isn't 5 star luxury but for what you pay its good. Highly recomended but JUST for beauty.

Horrific. A "layered" haircut was actually a mullet. I came because I bought a voucher card (which I was told was "invalid"). The salon itself was revolting - hair blocking the sinks, mirrors only clean in the centre. Just an awul experience. Save yourself!

Do not go to this place, they are appalling. I have never had cause to complain about a hairdresser before, until now. Roots 1cm long when having highlights, red hair when I needed blonde, zero customer service.
