Stay away from this Ponzi scheme (Aashni and Co). They are using nicely designed models on their site, but the reality is far from it. They are located in India and they promote their pieces as custom made.
I looked into their reviews before ordering, since there are a lot of bad and fraudulent sites operating from India. I found that the only bad reviews that they had were from UK about the behavior of their staff in their UK store. There are a lot of good reviews online , although India has a population of 1.4 billion, and a friend of mine who is Indian has warned me about those reviews stating that a lot of the good reviews are probably reviews by employees and their families and family friends.

But since I had an excellent experience ordering from “Ritu Kumar” online, I decided to give it a try. Their online site has great models and designs, my initial shopping cart had more than 9000 $ US worth of goods. However, I decided to first order one piece of clothes that is custom made and if I liked the material and craftmanship then I’ll order the rest.

I placed the order on 3/27/23 and paid online 454.74 $ US. I provided them at the same time with the length 50”. Then I sent an email confirming the length. I received an email confirming that the length will be 50”.
Then on May 10th I received a text on my Whatsapp from the following phone number [Edit]. The text was “ Hi Ms Rajaa, greetings from Aashni + Co. This is in reference to your order of Sue Mue Olive green printed Anarkali set. We request you to please let us know if the Anarkali length as 52 inches will be comfortable to you instead of 50 inches.”
I replied: “ Hello, No, the 50 inch will not be comfortable, that’s why I requested the 50 inch”.
She replied that she will request the designer to modify the length to 50 inch because what she received is 52 inches.
At that stage I knew that they can ruin the design because the trick in the model is the gradual length of 3 bands of 3 colors at the bottom, I raised my concern with the customer service rep via whatsapp on May 11th. I was reassured that the model will be adjusted from the waist and not the bottom and added the following:” Please be assured that the order will be perfectly done as per the original design and the quality will be premium”.
On May 19th, I received my order in Florida, USA.
Unfortunately, I received the product and the design was ruined because their so called designer simply hemmed the Anarkali (dress) from the bottom and completely ruined the model. I contacted them immediately, at first she said oh no it’s the exact same model. I sent her the photo of the original model and the photo of what I received side to side. At first she apologized and said that she will escalate the issue and update me within 24 hours. I asked her to email me a return label so I can send it to her so they can send me a new piece. After almost a week when I did not hear back from them, I sent her another text and I sent also an email.
Today, June 1, 2023, I received an email from [edit], Customer Experience Manager at Aashni +Co:
“ We understand your concern that the length adjustment of 2 inches was made based on your confirmation. Hence, we want to emphasize that there is no defect in the item you received. Regrettably, We are unable to fulfill your request for a return, refund or exchange”

Can you believe this garbage, so now I have this ruined piece that I’m not gonna wear and they are rudely blaming their poor craftmanship on me. They are the ones who cut it wrongly from the start. Clearly this company is not ready for the American market were customer service means serving and addressing customer concerns rather than lying to them.
They will steal your money and deliver you garbage.
I have to say that the materials of the Anarkali are excellent, but the craftmanship and the customer service (starting with [edit], Customer Experience Manager) are garbage. They are not professionals and they are in the business of stealing from customers. People with this kind of mentality have no honor and believe in anything for money. We here in America should be aware of this Ponzi scheme , I’m also reporting this company to consumer protection although the onus is really on us customers who place orders online from companies operating overseas who are not trust worthy and do not share our values or work ethics.
Have your say
