Are there any old fashioned sweet shops left?

Has anyone tasted arrowroot? let me just say, when I was a child in the northeast of England, South Shields actually :nod: their was this sweet shop that sold what looked like thin branches of wood, and tasted like arrowroot, dipped in American cream soda (sherbit) yummy :tongue2: out of this world.

Never seen or even heard of it since..do any of you know what Im on about?
