Well it's almost been a year and this is the first I've ever heard of your band...! I wouldn't mind being in a band... I went to see my work mates perform last night, they were pretty good! Lead singer was a bit off pitch at times, but they were confident and they had catchy tunes. I'd love to learn how to play the guitar then do some session singing, acoustically.

The recording on your myspace page isn't all that great... couldn't you get into a studio?

Guess you missed when I started the thread :)

I did some acoustic stuff myself a couple of months ago with me guitar. I plan on doing it again before the gig. I good practice epecially for sorting out nerves.

We didn't try going to a studio - just recorded some rough stuff to bung online to just give people an idea of some of what we play (also to hear mistakes and things - I only bunged Flowers in the Rain up cause the trumpet in it made me laugh - she wanted a recording of hte song to work something out to at home). We're not really fussed about getting any professional sounding recordings on there.

Forgot to ask, what kind of band would you want to be in? Like what stuff would you play?

Surely you must want to promote your band or else you wouldn't have created a myspace page. I'd try and get some quality sounding tunes on, even if you're not that fussed if it leads to anything, at least folk will be more drawn to want to come see you play live.

Well I can't play any instruments. Used to be able to play the violin and the flute, I could probably pick them up again, but only really be interested in playing the violin.
I'd love to learn how to play the guitar, but think I'd prefer to go solo and sing and play. Not really that interested in being in a band as I have no one to group together or join... Plus my main focus is acting, as you know, an I'd only want to do some singing as something on the side.

Oh and the music I'd want to play will be anything really... bar rocky/indie stuff... some covers.

Sure, I know what you're trying to say, but like I say, we're not interested in having professional recordings. Having a studio recording or a live one doesn't actually make any difference. It wouldn't to us anyway. I've had loads of positive feedback from strangers who are attending the gig, and they don't pretend the recordings are great quality. The live rehearsal recordings are neither here nor there I guess. If someone doesn't wantbto go to a gig purely cause we don't have a pro recording on the site then, pssh, don't come. Cause you don't get a studio recording when you see a band live!

We dont want to have a gig every week or month. As you said about doing it on the side, that's what we do. The band is just a bit of fun to fit around jobs and families. We can get local gigs easily without the MySpace page at all, the songs on there are merely a gyst of our vibe. Essentially there's no point in us paying for studio time at the mo. For other bands I'd say yeah, it would be worth it.

Oh also, crikey, you should hav heard the previous recordings we threw up - these are a vast improvement lol. Had feedback issues and all sorts. With these ones the biggest issue is that the iPhone was too close to the cymbal lol
