Right then.
Firstly, well done on choosing to move to London, with a bit of planning you shouldn't regret it!
As for the jobs situation there is work but you need to be prepared to do something that probably isn't perfect for a while until you can find the right job. That doesn't mean you'll be cleaning toilets in pubs but it might mean taking on temp positions in companies doing admin work rather than the graphics/design work you want to do.
I'd recommend having a job lined up before getting here, unless you have a good wedge of savings that you're ok using up whilst you find a job. A good place to start would be with temping agencies who might be able to place you into companies with departments that might be of interest to you. It's surprising how many temporary jobs turn into full time positions if employers spot potential - it's win win for them, they pay nothing for the recruitment process and end up with high quality employees.
From your post it sounds like you've got a good attitude towards it, and that's vital if you're going to get anywhere in London.
Hope that's of some use, any more questions just post them.
