I found the original films terrifying when I watched them as a teenager, not sure this remake can live up to those films.

Anyone going to watch it?

I'll see it at some point. My other half already has. Instead of Freddy being a child killer in this one, they've made him a paedophile. Not sure I'm too thrilled by that, but guess makes him a monster that you get more commonly, unfortuantely, today. Also from what I've seen, they've made Freddy less of an 80s charicature, as in less OTT.

Saying that, I was little in the 80s and Freddy scared the pants off me.

I think the remake looks awful. I will probably watch in when it's on Sky Movies but I'm not paying £8 to go and see it. Loved the originals though.

Think I'll also wait for Sky Box Office to get it then, doesn't sound like a barrel of laughs. The originals look very bad by today's standards but have a retro coolness with the dodgy effects, not sure a serious horror remake of it will work.

Could I also point out that Johnny Depp is not in this version so I wont be seeing this film. (Please don't tut at me AIL staff, I'm a Johnny Depp fan.)

So you won't see a film unless Johnny Depp's in it?

He didn't have the hugest part in the original.

Ahhhh I seeee... money is the issue.

Seven pounds sounds good to me - is £8.70 now where I live!! :o I worked at the cinema about 5 years ago and it was £7 and while I was there went up to £7.50 and I remember at the time thinking how cheeky and expensive that was.

I dont think it looks very good - there arn't many horror movie remakes that are that good, the old one is one of the best horror movies ever :)
