I am a PhD researcher at University of Sussex and I am investigating the potential of open-ended sexual representation on UK TV - in other words representation of bisexuality or homosexuality without labelling i.e gay, bisexual lesbian, queer etc.

My main case study is the BBC TV series Torchwood which does not label
any of its bisexual characters. I am looking for volunteers to attend a screening of an episode of Torchwood and then take part in a short discussion. The research will take place in the next 6 weeks at a central London venue. The focus group should take no more than
1 and a half hours and drinks and refreshments will be provided
and expenses covered. I am looking for people of all sexualities.

If you think you can help please email me at [email protected] and
tell me whether you have seen the series before, whether you label
yourself sexually and if so how and whether you are employed and
if so what is your occupation.

The research will help to find out more about how these representations
fit into wider current ideas about sexuality and sexual labelling. If you want to find out more about me please follow the link below.

Thanks in advance.
