Hi All,

My boyfriend and I have recently secured graduate jobs in London, and will be looking for somewhere to live in August. His job is based in Wimbledon, and I will be based near Bank but will also have to commute to Tonbridge in Kent aswell.

I wondered if anyone could offer any recommendations of nice areas to live that may have good access to both locations with a reasonable commute to Kent if need be, as this is all completely new to me!

Thanks very much for your help.

Hi Emma,

Firstly welcome to All In London

Secondly, well done to you and your boyfriend for getting jobs in London :)

Our boroughs/regions section is a good place to get an idea of where you might like to live. Wimbledon is in Merton, Bank is in The City.

Depending on what kind of place you'd like to live in somewhere in Lambeth might be worth considering. Clapham is a very trendy and young area and has great access to all of the South East and South West via Clapham Junction station, easy access to the city, Wimbledon and probably Tonbridge (I'd need to check that).

What kind of place do you want to live in? Budget?

Just posted on the other thread with more detail... I think Clapham Junction is the answer. Great connections to Wimbledon (overland direct), and to Bank and Tonbridge (via London Bridge which is direct on the overland from Clapham Junction).

I say why not move to Wimbledon, or nearby, like Raynes Park, New Malden or Kingston.

Reckon it would be a bit of a schlepp to get to London Bridge from places like Raynes Park wouldn't it.. trying to think of the route in my head - change at ClapJ or Waterloo and get onto overland/Jubilee line. Adds another layer into the commute. I'd sticking with Clapham Junction as the best bet
