Concert in aid of East Africa Famine Relief

On Saturday 20th August at 7.30pm a concert will take place at St Michael’s Church in Highgate to raise valuable funds for children and families who are suffering as a result of the famine in East Africa.

The concert, organised by Crouch End musician, Michael Haslam, will feature performers Anya Szreter, Yazz Ahmed, Ric Bolton, Michael Peavoy, Paul Moylan, Tom Davidson and Iwan Llewellyn Jones, with a programme including Handel, Puccini, Schubert, Gershwin, and Liszt. The concert will include a lively mix of opera, jazz and instrumental solos, promising a night to remember.

100% of the profits from the evening will go towards supporting SOS Children’s Emergency Relief Appeal in East Africa. Following the worst famine to hit the region in 60 years, the children’s charity has launched operations to provide thousands of families in urgent need with food, water and medical care. The proceeds from the concert will help the charity to provide aid in Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya, three of the most badly affected countries. As well as meeting the immediate needs of families in the crisis, SOS Children will help to reunite families and care for unaccompanied children.

The tickets for the concert are priced at £10 (£5 concessions) and include free refreshments. Tickets available on the door.
