If I'm totally honest (and I realise the BAFTAs ceremony is one of the quality ones) I'm just a bit sick of these awards dos.. there are so many of them about and all giving different awards and rating different people as "the best" that you can't really take any of them that seriously. IMO it's all a PR machine that determines who wins anyway - sorry to be cynical :getmycoat:

Yeah, I even heard that some of the nominees put together campaigns and have lobbyists. Lobbyists - for an award!
That said it's always nice to see a bit of glam on the red carpet.

Nice to see Drive got a few nominations. Great film.
Although, whether the film had been good or bad, Ryan Gosling in that t-shirt made it a winner for me haha.

I'm waiting for when we have the plumber awards, the house wife awards... etc etc etc. How about we all cry and slap each other on the back for a good job my fiance did on that toilet leak...! (He's a plumber...)

Good thinking... Maybe AIL should start the London Handymen (or Handyperson?) of the year awards? I know a good bathroom fitter and a good odd job man I'd nominate :) :applause:
