I realise this post is too late for your event, but I thought I would post for anyone else who is looking for an alternative to the usual Hen party ideas. I write personalised treasure hunts for Hen Parties in London. The treasure hunts are fun, interesting with a strong element of competition. Please visit my site http://www.stagandhentreasurehunt.com to find more information about Hen Treasure Hunts.

Hi,

I organise a lot of hen parties year round including: bellydancing, pole dancing, burlesque, can can...etc... a 2-hour hilarious moment a pure fun!

but also "make your own pants" parties, cocktail parties...

I personally had London's best pole dancer/acrobatic stripper for my hen party in August 2010.

It's great to hear so many novel ideas for hen dos.. have to say I can think of nothing worse that doing any kind of Burlesque activities in front of my mates in the middle of a relatively sober afternoon, but I guess I'm probably just too tame!

Knicker-making parties sound like great fun and very creative - I like that one!

Dollie Bergere
Dollie Bergere offers classic burlesque hen parties both during a sober afternoon but also a less sober evenings.

Good burlesque is about great dance, feeling confident and in control, Dollie Bergere burlesque performances are about the show and tease not the strip.

Dollie Bergere is a company inspired by the great Follie Bergere. Our Wiggle & Giggle hen parties are classic, classy and vintage inspired.

As you enter the peep show parlour of vintage vixan Dollie Bergere will teach you to shimmy, grind and bump in a sexy burlesque workshop. Dollie will teach you to grind, wiggle, shimmy and feather followed by a saucy, tease routine of your own guarenteed to tantilize and delight. No dance experience necessary as sassy Dollie will take you through all you need to know and will definitely get the party started.

You can also combine this with a facinator, headress or pastie (nipple tassle) makeing session and use your props in your routine

We can also offer you a Cabaret workshop. To follow in the footsteps of Marilyn Monroe, Jane Russell, you will your own show girl routine complete with feathers and sequins

i organized a hen party for my friend last summer and what we did was rented one of those big party buses and went around london singing and dancing, and we booked a karaoke room then had dinner in a classy restaurant followed by dancing all night.. we had so much fun and none of us drink

With the rise in popular dancing activities I would recommend Burlesque, dirty dancing, cheer leading and Grease dancing.

And great activities which you can combine with the above are cocktail mixing, pampering day, wine tasting and chocolate making.

For the evening - obviously a nice dinner would be good to start the evening. But also comedy club, karaoke club, male strip show or even a cabaret show?

Can't think of anything tackier than strippers or poledancing for a hen do. Not for mine, anyway. We're going on a day trip to France for my hen do this summer.

I agree... it's all a bit old-school that stuff. France sounds lovely though - are you not much of a drinker, or is the plan to get sozzled and just get the last Eurostar back?
