the only thing wrong with london is that it's full of whining americans

lol, i think its a great city. Like it or loathe it, London has some of the best attractions in the world and everyone knows it. Its a lifestyle suited to some and not to others.

Do people think that any more people than that there are in London that there are in NY or other major cities are there just for the money? Come on...even if your wild statistics are true to how many people are there for the money, it wouldnt class any worse than other big cities. London is set aside as one of the most famous places in the world and even living a few counties away its a nice experience every time I have visited.

Sounds like the lifestyle isnt for you, im sure a much more accurate percentage enjoy their lives in London and are used to it like their own (and proud of it no doubt).

My God, i cannot understand you depsite my inborn emphaty.

LONDON is amazing! :)
But of course I support you. If you have got a place in which you will be happier the best decision is to pack your suit case and leave. Wish you luck:)

I used to work in Knightsbridge and walk home to Fulham, a walk which took me past Harvey Nicks, Horrids, Brompton Oratory, The V & A, The Natural History Museum and lots of lovely South Kensington streets. Whenever I felt low I'd remind myself that people come from the world over to see this stuff that I take for granted.

So lucky, gosh wouldnt I just love to live in London, but I go there as often as possible.

People who do not appreciate London, have no taste whatsoever!.

I'm serious...I can't help myself. I don't like anything about London at all. I'm leaving tomorrow! It's over-priced, over-hyped and over-crowded. It doesn't offer anything that can't be had elsewhere in better climes for a fraction of the price. The only attraction it has is money and its (disappearing) English language. That's it. Take the cash from the equation and maybe 75% of the people who come here would go elsewhere. It has no charm and blows its own trumpet like a 35 stone Jazzer. All the nice things that are considered the norm in European places are hyped and 'priced' as 'Upmarket' or 'exclusive' in London. I've been here two weeks and that's enough for a lifetime.

Paris...now there's a beautiful city. Yeah, the French can be incredibly surly but at least they don't pretend to be anything else.

'Taxi....Heathrow please.'

Oh dear you can please some of the people some of the time eh? but not all the people all of the time :(

As for Paris being beautiful? its nice enough, admittedly the french are a bit...french ;) I can say that, as I am a bit of a mongeral...English, French Canadian and some Irish there to..
London is very beautiful!! outside of London I would say for beauty and interest...Barcelona everytime! Fantastic place!!!

Ah, but we can agree on something..."Taxi...Heathrow please"
;)

Amen. The only thing wrong with London is that they fail to keep minorities in their borders. And tourists - in theirs. Bloody b@stards.
Driven by excessive greed. But, come on, who isn't these days?

i think it doesn't matter where you live, you always seem to hate it.

I'm from london and when i lived there i hated it and thought it was dirty, although i did live in east london and it has got worse in that area. But now i live in Essex and its nicer than where i lived in london but i still hate it here too.

Even when i'm on holiday i always seem to moan about the place even though it's really not that bad.

That's funny... I always think the opposite is true. I've always ended up loving where I lived and been sad to move. Was in Clapham for 2 years and would never in a million years want to go back now, but at the time I thought it was the bees knees! I also lived in St John's Wood for 3 years and loved it and have now moved out to Surrey and love it here too (although I do miss the city buzz sometimes)..

Still agree about holidays though - I always end up just wanting to come back home!
