That's a blast from the past - I used to love those. That's the problem with food shops in central London you can get 400 types of coffee and 80 types of salad but none of them sell cream slices.

I'm off to the bakery...

and Custard Slices... whoar!

The dilemma was with the slices though which bit did you eat last, the bottom bit with the jam and all the custard or the top bit with the icing?

... it was pretty tricky to cram in the whole lot at once

That was the single most important issue in my life when I was 10. I generally opted for the icing last, the cream and jam section was the main course and icing was dessert.

Why did all of the cream always stay on the bottom half? That must be the 8th wonder of the world.

I always squeeze out the cream first, then start on the bottom bit with jam & then the top bit with the icing on :party:
