Hi -

Well one cheap and hugely fun thing to do (as I did) is to hire a band and have a private party in a central London pub room. There are two I have used which do not charge anything at all for room hire. One is on the edge of Soho...trendy downstairsbar of a pub off charing x road. The other is around the St John St area. Both parties I had at each were superb and the cost was minimal...basically whateer you want to spend on buffet food from the pub plus the cost of hiring a band. The band I hired was cheap and was truly excellent. Email me if you want all the info and I will send it onto you both.

Hi Amanda,

I just saw your comment and it was like a God send seeing as I am turning 18 in the middle of October and I am not at all sure what to do. Your suggestion sounds perfect and I was wondering if you would be able to give me the names of the pubs that you were mentioning.

Perhaps you could post me a reply on this or email me at [email protected]

thanks very much, Sarah Harley

Hi there!
What were the names of these places? and what band did you have because a friend and i turn 18 next month and desperately are looking for venues, entertainment etc. I would really appreciate it if you could get back to me asap.
Thanks!

Hi there, I too am looking for somewhere for my daughter's 18th birthday which is in February. She has some friends who are still 17 so a club is not going to work I don't think. Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received. Ideally she would like somewhere where she and her friends can go and there is music. Some of her friends are in a band and could DJ but I don't have a clue where to begin to look .. all I know is that I don't want a party at my house!

Now stumped for ideas and places!! :-S
