Hello there
I'm going to travel to Milan next Tuesday for three days and I found out that my passport is going to expire in a month. Does anyone know if is possible to travel?
Thanks

Hi there,

I'm in pretty much the same position with France instead of Italy. My passport expires early in July and I'm going there next week.

I phoned the French Embassy in London and they said that France has no restrictions on time left on your passport, you just have to leave before it expires. I would imagine Italy would be the same, probably worth phoning them rather than basing the legality of your trip on my assumptions though Wink Happy

cheers,
Mogwai

Hi Julie,
Welcome to The Knowledge.

Yes, Mogwai's absolutely right, you'll be fine to go.
If you've got a British passport you'll be fine to travel as long as you're back by the expiry date on your passport.

If you've got any further queries you can ring the Italian Embassy on 020 7312 2200.

Have a good trip!

All the best,

AIL Staff

Thanks guys, I tried to call the Italian Consulate this afternoon (the Embassy gave me the number)but I was held in a queue for ages. In the meanwhile, I found a website (www.passaportoitaliano.info) where I found out that one can travel to and from Italy as long one's passport is valid. Happy
