Hello,

in June this year I will visit London one week. It's my first city tour in this city. Sure, I want to see as much as possible.

Would you say it is a must to see for the first trip?

There is so much to see, and I would like to plan the trip circa.
Is it a must to see?

It would be great to get some tips. Thank you.

Regards.

To be honest you might as well because Chinatown isn't particularly big. Essentially it's just one little pedestrianised road. Is right next to Leicester Sq too.

I love Chnatown, just wish it was bigger.

Many people says that it is a must to visit Chinatown in London,
because of the food. Is that right or matter of taste.
I think there is only china/thai/.. food??

There are so many restaurants you'd have to pick one first!!

But the food is good, and yes it's all east Asian like Chinese, Thai, etc. So yeah, it's a matter of taste food-wise - if you don't like chinese food, don't eat there, but it doesn't take long at all to walk through it.

But if you don't fancy a meal, there are shops where you can get the nicest cakes (my fave is a strawberry flavoured pink sponge swiss roll) or sweets or buns or mocchi (YUM) and things.

I guess so, I live a 15-20 min train from London Waterloo so I get into the centre of town quite often.

Not sure what to recommend to check out because I've never had to cram in touristy things.

Chinatown is great, however if you blink you'll miss it, it's really not very big. Also just because a restaurant is in Chinatown it doesn't mean it's good, there are some fantastic and not so fantastic places to eat.

Chinatown is right next to Leicester Square/Piccadilly Circus so is very easy to fit into your itinerary.

I would say that it is something to see only after you have hit all of the other big ticket items 1st. (especially if this is your 1st visit to London). 1 item of note is that the Phone boxes that used to be there used to have little pagodas over them. When I took my wif there there to show her last summer they were gone.

If you really want to go though look up Gerrard St or Lisle or Wardour Sts in your London a to Z or on Google Maps and you will find Chinatown.

There is no such thing as a 'must see' since everybody has different tastes and there are so many great things to experience in London I don't see how you can go wrong, frankly.

If it appeals to you GO AND EXPERIENCE IT. You don't need validation from a load of strangers for that, surely? Give it a punt, that's part of the fun.

Whatever you choose to do in London I have every confidence you will enjoy this wonderful city and I wish you a great trip!

All the best :)

And at the end of the day it takes all of 30 seconds to walk through it.
