Hi all, I just joined the site today after moving here a couple of months ago. I've spent all my time so far settling in, working and eating out and not much else! I was hoping you might be able to give me advice on good areas to check out and places to go to. I'm past doing the main tourist things now and feel like now I live here I want to discover the real London!

Hi! London's such a great city, and if you've exhausted all the touristy haunts, there are a ton of places for you to discover and get you out & about. Any type of places in particular you are looking for Cocoa? Commercial Tavern, Gordon's Wine Bar, Long Bar, Loungelover are just a few great places to check out on a night out on the town, while St. John Bread and Wine, Hakkasan & Bocca di Lupo are a few great places for food. The places you can check out in London are endless though. If you are looking for a full list of some good London finds you can check out (more than just restaurants & nightlife spots), you can get all the information on those places at thepurplepassport.com

I hope that helps and that you are finally able to start discovering the real London:)

I have no idea what people mean when they say 'the real London', as if Tourist buses secretly whisk customers off into a foreign land!

Look, there is no real / unreal London, its a hugely diverse place, calling any part of it 'typical' is a matter of opinion.

I hope the following websites will help you find places you haven't been to before
