Good Coffee / Wine Houses

I'm visiting London tomorrow (Mainly central) and would like to sample a few Coffee / Wine Houses that people recommend. I'm looking for somewhere that I can have a nice glass of wine and my other half can get a nice coffee. Also if there is anywhere that does the above, but with food that would be even better.

Any ideas anybody?

Bit late now, but Gordan's Wine Bar just between Embankment and Charing X is great. Really old-fashioned, but loads of characted.
