I am looking to buy a a flat/house in a decent area somewhere between bristol and london, preferably village like with boating areas or with the coast near by. I would like good transport links to london to continue working here.

Can anyone recommend an area that would suit a late 20's /early 30's couple?

Any recommendations & rough price of travel would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks!

Hi,

I have just found this post and have probably missed the mark, but if you're still looking, I can recomend Burnham on the outskirts of Slough.

Its fairly cheap in comparison to most of the thames valley, and has a nice little high street. But the most important thing - you get a seat on the train every morning!

Otherwise, I'd recomend a website I found recently - www.commutefrom.com - it shows you how long it takes to commute into london, and the house prices in the areas.

Hope that helps!
