We have a group night out in July and many are keen on 10 pin bowling. My issue is my expereices are pretty awful at these places in cetral London.
Searhing Google there is a place called the Bloomsbbury Bowling Lanes, which looks fantastic. Anyone been there or can recommend it. If not I have heard there are bowling lanes in Couty Hall. Are there okay?

Hi Jim100,

Welcome to the Knowledge.

None of us here at All In London have been to the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes so we can't really comment on that. If you go along please do post back here to let us know what it's like.

Other bowling options

The bowling lanes in county hall are part of Namco Station. I've not been but I hear it's a great place for work nights out.

There's also the Trocadero centre in Piccadilly Circus, the lanes are good quality and it's a great location for drinks/meals after or before.

Hope that helps. If anyone's got any more suggestions or opinions on these places please feel free to post them here.

Hi Jim100,
Yes the lanes at County Hall at Namco Station are great, they're lit with UV lights which is very cool.
The prices are reasonable too.

It's true! Bloomsbury Bowling lanes are cool. I went with a friend on Friday and we had a great time. We were a bit concerned that it would be a bit grubby and shabby but it wasn't. It's not as polished as your normal British bowling alley but who wants that anyway? Some of the fixtures and fittings looked as though they were original 1950's - a slice of Americana in Russell Sq. The food was good (mini burgers, nachos and fries) as was the music (a mixture of old school indie - elastica, blur and newer stuff like kings of leon). Plus everything was reasonably priced (cheap even) for central London. I'd definately go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a funky alternative to megabowl.

Just to let you know; it's ace, I'm having my birthday there this year. The venue is cool, it was one of those "well kept secret" type of places until recently. Gets quite busy at weekend nights and has live bands frequently followed by DJ until the early hours.

Great food, music, general experience, ambiance etc etc.

Bloomsbury has great beers, it's well priced and a cool hang out.

An alternative nearby is Allstar Bowling lanes, it's more bowling and cocktails vs bloomsbury's bowling and beers.

Hope this helps, have a good time.

Hi there

There's a bowling venue called All Star Lanes in Bloomsbury. Only 6 lanes but includes a cocktail bar and diner. American theme. I hear they're having a New Year's Eve party too.

Hope this helps
