The likes of Christian Slater, Miranda Richardson, Stephen Fry, Helena Bonham Carter, Bob Geldof and Richard E Grant were just a few of the stars who braved the paparazzi outside London's Gielgud Theatre to see Radcliffe tread the boards for the first time.

The play has attracted controversy as Radcliffe smokes on stage and completely strips off, however this is mild in comparison to the content of the piece that follows a troubled young man and his relationship with horses.

However Radcliffe's performance has been praised as it sees him make the transition from child star of the Harry Potter films to a serious young theatre actor.

Peter Shaffer's classic play "EQUUS" originally opened at the National Theatre in 1973, before transferring to the West End and Broadway for record-breaking runs. "EQUUS", which won the 1975 Tony Award for 'Best Play', was made into a film starring Richard Burton in 1977.

Prices for Equus tickets at the Gielgud Theatre range from:
Ticket Only: £32.40 - £54.40
Ticket and hotel: £98.00
