The Casa Spa on Edgeware Road offers something very different to the usual corporate spas found in London. This family run Hammam feels homely and is so welcoming that it is an absolute joy to visit.

The boutique spa has up to only ten guests at a time, meaning that there is a great emphasis on individual customer contentment. The spa has recently under gone a complete renovation - the owner, Helen, designed the entire interior herself basing it on the lavish antiquity of the Ottoman Empire.

The Hammam experience itself is a complete detox for the skin enveloped in Eastern tradition; the entire treatment takes place in a private Turkish bath style room full of thick steam to draw all of the toxins from your pores. In the Casa spa, a special organic ‘black soap’ especially imported from Morocco is used consisting of solely black olives and orange – this, Helen claims, is the secret to beautiful skin. The beauty therapist of your Hammam then uses an exfoliation mitt to vigorously buff away all of the dead skin and the toxins that have been drawn from the body, leaving skin feeling beautifully soft.
Finally, a mud mask from the Mountains of Morocco and a hair mask containing honey are both applied for a further soak.

After washing away the treatments, the sparkling new skin is revealed. Feeling completely at ease, you are then shown to the beautifully adorned area of rest and relaxation to sit and enjoy Moroccan tea, and fresh fruit. The hammam leaves skin feeling invigorated and rejuvenated – it is noticeably glows after the deeply penetrative nature of the treatment. It is no wonder then that Arabian brides may come for Hammam three days consecutively, prior to their wedding day!

The Casa spa also houses a few treatment rooms for alternatives to Hammam. Their latest treatment is the LPG lipomassage – an innovative body sculpting machine which produces amazing results for toning and fat break down of problem areas. The Casa Spa is not simply a spa visit; it is an experience, which will leave you feeling freshly cleansed with beautifully pure skin.
