Introducing the new Noodle Bar and Lounge

New ground floor eatery

Spice Market has undergone some exciting new changes. Taking inspiration from the increasing appetite for high quality, affordable dining, the ground floor of the two-tier restaurant will become Spice Market Noodle Bar and Lounge, serving a selection of its most popular appetizers and delicious new noodle dishes within a relaxed and informal environment.

Service has also been extended until 12am on Friday and Saturday nights, and will continue throughout the day at weekends, creating the perfect place to drop in for a mid afternoon lunch whilst out shopping, a post-theatre dinner or a late night catching up with friends.

Developed by executive chef Peter Lloyd and Spice Market creator Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, the Spice Market Noodle Bar and Lounge menu will feature hot and cold dishes such as Chilli-garlic egg noodle with seared shrimp and star anise, Spicy Shanghai soup noodles with chilled silken tofu and Buckwheat noodles with chilled cucumber broth. Prices will be extremely competitive with dishes ranging from £5-£10, making it the ideal way to sample the delicious flavours from the à la carte menu.

In addition to noodles, the lounge area will serve a selection of small plates, including the Spice Market Plate, which is designed to be shared and features tasters of the restaurant’s signature dishes, such as Spiced chicken samosas with coriander yoghurt, Lobster rolls and Charred chilli rubbed beef skewer with Thai basil dipping sauce. This will be priced at £12 per person.

The à la carte menu, which can still be enjoyed on the first floor restaurant area, will also see some changes with several new lighter dishes added – in particular soups, salads, and vegetable dishes – created for the warmer months. These include Malaysian seafood laksa with roasted red sambal, Spicy Thai slaw with Asian pear, crispy shallots and mint, and Lotus root, asparagus, lily bulb and black pepper.
