Next month Marianne opens in Notting Hill, a teensy restaurant with just 14 covers run by Marianne Lumb, a finalist on Masterchef: The Professionals. We take a look at some other diminutive eateries.

Pitt Cue Co: 30 covers
The former food truck is now a small, albeit hugely successful restaurant offering pulled pork, slow cooked beef, and other BBQ delights inspired by food from America’s southern states. Portions are plentiful and served in no-nonsense tin trays; large queues are standard.

Jose: 30 covers
Jose is just a few doors up from Jose Pizarro’s larger restaurant Pizarro on Bermondsey Street, focusing on sherry and simple tapas like meatballs, and lentils with chorizo.

10 Greek Street: 35 covers
Chef Cameron Emirali’s previous job was at the hip Wapping Food, which he left in 2012 to open 10 Greek Street. The menu here has Mediterranean-inspired food at affordable prices.

Barrafina: 23 covers
This old Soho favourite continues to do a roaring trade, offering modern tapas and seating at the central bar.

Sushi Tetsu: 7 covers
Toru Takahashi and his wife Harumi are the sole chefs at this minuscule eatery, preparing all the sushi themselves in front of the diners. There is no hot food, but lovers of the Japanese classic will have more than enough to be impressed by. Unusually for such a small eatery, they take bookings.

Seven Park Place: 26 covers
Located within St. James Hotel and Club, this is London’s smallest Michelin-starred restaurant. William Drabble’s menu harks back to classic British cuisine, with dishes like honey roast pigeon.

Casse-Croûte: 20 covers
Herve Durochat, the manager of Jose (see above) recently opened this French bistro serving affordable French dishes and charcuterie. It also happens to be opposite Durochat’s former employer.
