Carom unveils the Glasshouse

Soho venue tackles unpredictable British summer weather with sunshine-inspired pop-up

On Wednesday 4th June 2014, pan-Indian restaurant and cocktail bar Carom (www.caromsoho.com) will launch The Glasshouse; a brand new solarium-inspired space that will provide sunshine all summer long, regardless of the unpredictable British weather.

Located at 100 Wardour Street in the heart of bustling Soho, guests can escape unfriendly temperatures outside and relax in The Glasshouse’s tropical surroundings of luscious foliage and delicate blooms aimed to revitalise, recharge and encompass the best of the summer. With eye catching accents of zesty lime, warm reds and pops of fuchsia throughout, the colourful Glasshouse space is defined by beautiful iron-wrought gates and a whimsical lovers’ swing; all set underneath an impressive glass ceiling that reveals the sky and maximises natural light.

Guaranteeing sunshine from day to night through the use of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) lamps, the pop-up summer bar is designed to uplift spirits. Lamps will leave guests rejuvenated in spite of the changeable British temperatures, re-setting body clocks and regulating energy levels.

For a taste of summer, guests can take their pick from Carom’s Sunshine Cocktail Menu, featuring a Vitamin D-bursting Grape Julep made using mint and grape mixed over ice with cognac and peach liquor to help restore a harmonious balance of this sunshine vitamin. To quench thirst, there’s also a selection of exotic cocktails including the Carrot Margarita shaken with sharp tequila, zingy lime juice, sweet agave nectar and homemade carrot syrup and the Mediterranean Sensation, a delicious blend of fresh basil, lemon and almonds with smooth bourbon.

To ‘turn up the heat’, Executive Chef Vishnu Natarajan has created a chilli-infused menu boasting a host of hot and spicy contemporary and classic pan-Indian dishes. These include Meen Varuval, a dish of pan-fried sardine fillets served with a fiery madras marinade and Malabar Jumbo Tiger Prawns, gently fried and served with a milled red chilli and coconut and spice dip. For a chilli crescendo, guests can enjoy a dessert of Alphonso Crème & Sesame Snap Rolls, served with chilli mango chutney and finished with a refreshing lime sorbet.

Promising sunshine and heat all season, The Glasshouse is the perfect London location for friends, families and couples to turn up the heat this summer.

Carom’s Glasshouse opens from 4th June – end of September 2014.
