Behind the Groove’s Alex Rose is a DJ whose passion is his digital platform known for its high quality features and mixes that continue to explore, celebrate and venerate the contributions of highly respected, scene-shaping Labels, Artists, DJs and Special Events that shape the underground music scene and global club culture we have come to know and love.


Celebrating such talent, Alex has compiled the deluxe vinyl series ‘Victor Simonelli: The Early Years Vols 1 & 2” with Vol 1 released on Saturday April 29th. Vol 2 follows on May 26th and Alex joins Victor Simonelli flying in for an Exclusive Live DJ & Signing session at Dalston’s Love Vinyl record store on Saturday April 29th from 2pm til 6.30pm. What’s the best thing about London?


A strong underground music culture and countless amazing independent record shops


What’s the worst thing about London?


Endless construction and roadworks!


Where do you go to have fun?


Soho and Covent Garden for record shopping and they boast a brilliant profusion of pubs, bars and the best clothes shops in the country


Where is the most relaxing place in town?


Kew Gardens with its ever changing scenery and of course the wonderful hot house.


Where is your favourite place for eats and drinks in London?


Shoreditch House which has great drinks, food, atmosphere and a roof top pool!


If I could change one thing about London…


I'd make it quieter, it can be one noisy place!


What’s your favourite club venue to play at and what makes it so special?


Fabric London, the soundsystem and DJ booth are second to none and  it's always a privilege to play there for www.therogueroom.com/ 


What's your favourite shop and what makes it so special?


Phonica Records in Poland St. It's always a treasure trove of both new and old underground vinyl with so so much to offer and you often see some key faces from the scene in there whilst you’re shopping.


The song that reminds me most of London is…


The original 14 minute long epic dance floor monster that is Kenny Dope’s Bucketheads anthem, “The Bomb”. When it came out I can recall that track bellowing out of record shops and cars around Soho and sticks with me every time I’m in town.


Tell us a London gem that everyone should know about


If your ever in the Aldgate East area, check out the infamous Katsu Chicken wrap stall in Petticoat Lane food market -the owners are awesome characters:-) and enjoy some incredibly indulgent lunchtime feasting.


One thing everyone should do in London is…


Indulge in some rebellious wellness at The Rogue Room Fabric, Charterhouse St. It’s Rocket Yoga set to a backdrop of dreamy deep house and techno in one of Europe's most distinguished night club settings.
