South Norwood is mostly populated by commuters, as property prices are cheaper than in inner London and even Croydon, and the railway connects to London Bridge and Dalston Junction in the east. The north east area is regarded as the more deprived part, while the north west is a little more affluent; sadly the area has made the news in recent years for violent crimes. On the plus side, it is home to the sprawling South Norwood County Park, complete with tennis courts and football pitch, and the night time tranquillity will suit people who want to get away from the noise of London, without being too far from the city.
